Mediation is an alternative method of dispute resolution in family matters including but not limited to divorce and child custody case.  Many of the courts in Southwest Indiana including Vanderburgh County require the parties to attempt to resolve their issues through mediation before a contested hearing is held.  Mediation also provides the parties with a cost-effective opportunity to remain in control of the final outcome in their case.
